# Nextcloud client not finding local server

Hello. I have Nextcloud up and running in a StartOS box connected to my local network. I can access it from my Macs browser/client, iPhone, iPad, etc.  
In my Linux Mint laptop, I can access it from the browser. But the same address pasted to the nextcloud client I downloaded from the repository doesn’t work, it says it can’t find the server…tried both the LAN and the TOR adresses…what can be the cause? I’m not a Linux guy, but it should be pretty straightfoward…

You connect directly via a local ip address? Or via public ip address with port forwarding on your router? Or with a domain name?
