Nextcloud client does not work as it should

Dear Community, here is my issue…

Nextcloud version : 12.0.8
Operating system and version : Ubuntu 16.04 Server
Apache version: 2.4.18
PHP version : 7.0.30

The issue you are facing:

I have migrated from Owncloud 10.0.8 to Nextcloud 12.0.8 and all went well. I stil have my Owncloud clients in sync. But when I install a Nextcloud client (OSX Macbook), it only sync some files and not all.

In the Nextcloud client windows, it says for many files…

17/06/2018 07:25:12, FILENAME, Nextcloud,The downloaded file does not match the checksum, it will be resumed.

I have then relink the Owncloud client on the same machine and it works without a glitch.

What should I do to make the Nextcloud client up and running???

Please report this issue to the developers on https://github.com/nextcloud/client/issues

ownCloud has a checksum that is verified after upload which is not done in Nextcloud (I don’t know the reasons why this feature was not backported). Some in the past have just removed the checksums from the database, that’s a very hacky workaround and should only be done when recommended by the developers. I’m not sure if they are currently aware of the problem in combination with the client (therefore please open a bug report).

The desktop client is currently worked on to implement the end-to-end encryption. Unfortunately, the currently stable client is a bit behind the ownCloud release (https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/223). On a few clients (especially on OS X), I’m still using the ownCloud client for this reason and I’m waiting to migrate.
