How do I activate autostart of Nextcloud Client on Fedora 42? I set the “Launch on System Startup” but the next time I start it is switched off again and Nextcloud client does not auto start.
First of all i think it will depends on Desktop (eg KDE, xfce, etc.) you are using, but you do not provide what you use.
Why not search in Fedora Forum for that and your used Desktop?
Gnome Desktop (default in Fedora(?))
Well i don’t use Fedora nor Gnome but Debian and Ubuntu with xfce Desktop. But i can say from Experience every common Desktop has an Autortart Option in the Desktop Environment.
The Gnome Help (just a one minute search in my favorite Search Engine) explain how to start an application automatically on login.
How did you install the client?
If you’re using GNOME or KDE Plasma (not sure about other DEs) and installed it via the Fedora repos (dnf install nextcloud-client), which is what I’d recommend, autostart should work out of the box.
I’m not sure about the Flatpak or AppImage versions, but I wouldn’t recommend them anyway, since, as far as I know, you won’t get the Nautilus/Dolphin integration (right-click menu and sync status icons in the file manager) with them.
