Nextcloud Android App randomly downloads files to phone

Hi everyone,
after the latest Nextcloud client update, my Nextcloud app started downloading everything from my cloud to my phone and I can’t seem to stop it. Why is this happening? How can I stop Nextcloud from syncing everything to my phone?

Same here. I noticed because suddenly 75% of my 20GB internet bundle was used, of which 12.24 GB was Nextcloud in just the last day.

All the files had the sync icon or the green checkmark icon. I selected all and clicked on Cancel Sync. But still my notifications in the top pull down go haywire with many Nextcloud download notifications.

The only way to stop this is to not allow Nextcloud any internet access. Settings → Apps → Nextcloud → Mobile data and Wi-Fi → Allow network access (off)

So far I think the only workaround is restricting or uninstalling the app on android.

After deleting the cache everything was ok for about 30 minutes, then it started all over again. The only thing that helped here was to completely uninstall the app and set it up again on the end device.

I am having this issue as well, just uninstalled the app now, as it was getting ridiculous.

My phone downloaded over 600 Gigs of data in the last day or two on wifi, used up my 5G data and my battery started draining 4 times as fast…

Needless to say, I will wait for a certain fix before I re-install.

Hi everybody,

My app has been behaving the same and it basically consumed all of my data plan.

It seems to be an issue with version 3.30.1.

I found a different thread where they adress the issue, and claim a bug fix with update 3.30.2.

The apk does not install as it mentions conflicts when I tried.

Lets hope its just a matter of time, and the update is pushed before the end of the month.

Had the same problem. I did uninstall the client and reinstall apk version 30.0.0
Had to setup everything from scratch again.
No probs since then (3 days).
