hey new here. i have had nextcloud aio setup and running for a while now but just started the backup stuff. right now i have nextcloud setup with external storage to my unraid server thats hosting nextcloud aio.

i have my nextcloud data then i have external storage to the host system (unraid) so i could get anyfile i might need, along with my nextcloud data.

my question is does borg back up my external storage data with nextcloud data. and if so how would i put a stop to the external storage data. my unraid server is backup its self. all i want it if something goes wrong with the nextcloud aio setup i would be able to restore without having to start over.

you ask something that is already explained in the very well maintained AiO-Manual… take a look here GitHub - nextcloud/all-in-one: 📦 The official Nextcloud installation method. Provides easy deployment and maintenance with most features included in this one Nextcloud instance.

and read the last sentence carefully.
“Be aware that this solution does not back up files and folders that are mounted into Nextcloud using the external storage app - but you can add further Docker volumes and host paths that you want to back up after the initial backup is done.”
