Each time a new update is released, the download speed from download.nextcloud.com is extremely slow, often resulting in failed updates. Please consider implementing a CDN. It appears that the IP address for download.nextcloud.com is the same worldwide, so slow speeds are to be expected if everyone download from the same server…
This has already been done, at least for the built-in Updater. It uses GitHub’s CDN.

The link on https://nextcloud.com/download should probably include the newer option as an alternative download link as well I suppose.

You need to update immediately, then you’ll be ahead of the wave and have fast download speeds.
That was fun, and the topic is well known.
A new updater will be included with the release of v32 in September. This forms the basis for a distributed update method.
This means that the new mechanisms for distributing updates will take effect with version v32.0.1.
