That isn’t always possible, if for example you’re using Cloudflare.
I’ll just move the .well-known folder out of the Nextcloud folder while upgrading
The decidedly less buttery-smooth but easily achievable workaround
Web Update 12.0.0 to 12.0.1RC4 went rather smoothly. First try detected a(n empty) folder assets. I removed it and restarted the update. No further problems. Good work! I noticed a strange dutch translation: in the apps listing some have “Beperk to groepen”. This should be “beperk tot groepen”. Apps Gallery, Log Reader, Monitoring and a few others have this option.

That isn’t the problem of Nextcloud or the Updater because the folder is not Nextcloud-related.
The custom apps directory (apps2
or something), on the other hand, is a Nextcloud Updater problem.
My favorite thing about updating to betas is I have Nextcloud in a LXD container on ZFS, so snapshoting and reverting is cake if crap hits the fan hasn’t happened yet, and this time worked successfully from the GUI! Previous attempts failed and made it so I had to use the CLI updater to avoid issues. Will report errors if there are any

Yes, already known:
Upgrade was smooth (from 12.0.0).
The nextcloud log shows errors on sync from some CalDAV and CardDAV
clients (Mozilla TB @ Linux, CalDAV-Sync and CardDAV-Sync by dmfs GmbH @
Android), however data is eventually synced fine.

Other clients (CardDAV plugin of roundcume and rainloop) do not produce
the error. (I noticed some patch for these two types of clients exists
in NC 12.0.1-RC4 to resolve non-standard client behaviour.) I checked
the logs and the problem seems to be introduced with NC 11.0.2 or so)

So it seems you did find a bug, or not - @nickvergessen thinks it is a beta or RC of ownCloud, not a final release. Is that possible?
See Allow also an update from 10.0.2.0 by jospoortvliet · Pull Request #5941 · nextcloud/server · GitHub
This is really odd. Esp the doc.owncloud.org thing - that is certainly not in our code. Are you sure the update was complete and some files from oC are not left over perhaps? I am trying to find out how this can happen but I can’t find anything…
Upgraded from 12.0.0 to 12.0.1RC4 using beta channel without a glitch! Everything went just fine!
Great job Nextcloud team!
I can’t replicate this on mine.
Same here but using the daily
channel instead. Not a single glitch and in less than 5 minutes. No more T-Shirts
Tried to update from 12…0.0 to 12.0.1 RC4 on a PC running OpenMediaVault 3.0.86 - Debian Linux
First I tried the beta channel the the daily channel.
Both with the same result.
First I get this error message
Then I tries a “Retry Update”
Given the prevalence of using Let’s Encrypt, it would be great if the Nextcloud upgrader would accommodate this.
There are other ways to make it work:
Morten, time outs are odd - seems a server issue, what do you see in the logs?!!?? Is the zip handling PHP module installed?
