News app: Long articles are not displayed in full length

  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • Not sure, probably since I started using it
  • Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)

  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)

Summary of the issue you are facing:

News app: longer articles are cut after some point and are not displayed in full length.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Subscribe to a feed with full length articles (e.g. https://www.astralcodexten.com/feed)

  2. Find a long article

  3. Scroll to the end

Details

I checked that the feed contains the full content so it cannot be due to the feed.

I did not find any similar issues in the internet so I suppose this might be an issue on my installation but I don’t know how to debug this further.

Such errors in the past left some traces in the logs, do you find anything similar?

This is not about the full text feature, affected are the feeds which include the full text in the feed.

Anyway, this was reported and fixed in the repo, so the issue is closed: https://github.com/nextcloud/news/pull/3489
