We have been battling with this migration from OC to NC for several months. OC used to be very stable in relation to the LDAP users. It is not perfect but pretty stable. LDAP integration in to NC31 is a nightmare. Don’t get me wrong NC is pretty cool but some aspects of it are pretty messy. There is no support and also the community seems always to be confused. You can do a search on common topics like this one I am posting and there are a lot of common issues reported and no resolution, topics are always closed because no one replied back. No manuals (or half-baked manuals), no support. We tried to go with the “enterprise” option but prices are just ridiculous. Maybe we’ll stay with our old OC instance and use it until it dies. I will still give this a shot:
Our LDAP configuration on NC31 was working half-way, searches took a long time and some aspects of user (LDAP) search didn’t work but still it was usable. Then someone pressed the stupid “Test Base DN” button and everything turned into chaos. I don’t know that does this button do but before pressing it, the LDAP configuration appeared as ‘OK’ (green). Now the error is there even if the Base DN is the same as it was before. I have searched through this forum and there are a lot of similar issues reported but the solution or the origin of this issue is not clear. LDAP functionality used to be an app, now it seems to be integrated into NC. Is there a way to contact the LDAP app creators to dig further into this?
