NC and OO on same server w/o https under centOS 8, not dockerized possible?

Sorry to dig up this old thread. I’m new to this and I was wondering if it is possible to set up the following:

  • Nextcloud and Onlyoffice on the same physical server
  • Not use https
  • OS is Centos 8
  • Preferbly without docker
  • No knowledge about webservers so apache or ngnix, either is fine

@etcy hey Edward and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for your very first participation.
Please don’t re-open very old threads for a completely new question. I opened a new thread for you.
Pls see nc-guidelines and nc-code of conduct on how to post/open threads.

as for your points.

from nc 18 on there’s a so called community server available. made for homeusers. just one or two clicks to install that one. please refer to the forum on how to do it.

that will always stay a security-glitch. maybe with follow-up issues since nc was made for use as secure as possible.

should work. the forum might know more about it.

should work as well. depending upon your own knowledge with linux

Hi,

Sorry for re-opening old thread and thank you for pointing me to the guidelines.

I intend to use it in the company for a small team. For the last project, I had NC15 and OnlyOffice running on two PCs with https by following some online guides. However, certs were self-signed and users kept complaining about the error page they see on the browser. Also, for the new project, I only have 1 PC to spare.

Since this will be deployed in a internal network, we dun really care for https.

I have limited knowledge about these servers stuff and usually rely on guides (copy & paste).

why not trying a VM? and talking about that why not the vm of official nextcloud-branch nextcloudpi.com?
