Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

The Basics

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

To be honest, my preference for options rather than have a developer mandate what they feel works best for them.

Personally i don’t fancy the waffle menu. It’s another click to get where I want (Yes, I’m impatient, I know :grimacing: )

Just spend about 15 mins looking for a way to turn the waffle menu off which, needless to say, was not how I enjoy spending my time.

Summary: The option of a waffle menu is good for some. It’s anoying for those of us who find a reasonably flexible interface far better.

Would like to choose which items are on the top bar with the balance in the waffle menu. That would be the best of both worlds for all users. I don’t find the mandatory search in the top bar of any use, ever. I click on a subset of apps many, many more times than I use a search.

Choice, please. :face_holding_back_tears:

@Paka while I agree to the choice request, this is neither a decision made in the community forum, nor something any of us here could do anything about  we weren’t asked either.

your best option is to communicate your preferences and requests on the developers GitHub https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues

please consider placing an issue request there and linking it here for posterity :+1:

you’re not the only user who wants this to be optional: App Navigation Redesign · Issue #59888 · nextcloud/server · GitHub simply add your heads-up :waving_hand:
