Move to another server

I am actually using NC 15.0.10 on ubuntu 16.04 and I am planning to move to an Ubuntu 18.04 with nextcloud 17.

Can I backup my NC 15 and restore it on NC 17 or should I restore it on a NC15 and then upgrade to 17???

In general it is not supported to skip a major version, so I would recommend to bring your existing server to v17 first (15 > 16 > 17) and then move the data to the new server, or to move the data to the new server, where you’re also running v15, and start the migration (15 > 16 >17) there.
