I am currently facing an issue with my Nextcloud Talk instance that I can’t resolve. The problem is about the preview that is usually generated when sharing links in WhatsApp or other social networks.
What works: When I share regular sharing links from my Nextcloud (e.g., for files or folders), a preview image is generated correctly. The title and description are also displayed.
What doesn’t work: For Talk links (e.g., https://meet.example.com/call/xyz123), the preview is completely missing. Instead, only the plain link is shown, without an image, title, or description. This doesn’t look good and might confuse other users.
Questions:
- Is there a possible configuration in Nextcloud to enable Open Graph tags for Talk links?
- Should I make changes directly in the
spreedcode? If so, where exactly would it make sense? - Do specific Nextcloud privacy settings block the creation of preview images for Talk links?
- Has anyone encountered a similar issue or found a workaround?
