Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5):
MySQL version “5.7.35-0ubuntu0.18.04.2”
I know that the databasemigration is an often asked question in this community but I haven’t found an answer for my question.
I’ve installed nextcloud on a webhosting service (1Blu) with MySQL 5 long ago. Since version 21, to which I accidentally upgraded, I should use MySQL 8.
I can’t upgrade the database itself but it is possible to create a new with MySQL 8. My idea is to export via phpMyAdmin the MySQL5 database and import it in a new MySQL8 database and afterwards change the database in nextcloud. Since I have only access to the database via phpMyAdmin, what do I have to do? If I have to ‘convert’ some things I can do it on my desktop (Debian). I have nearly no knowledge of databases besides how they work in principle.
thanks in advance
