Manage user manager with occ

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version ():
    • 34.0.2
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Debian 13
  • Web server and version (e.g, Apache 2.4.25):
    • NginX

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Setting of user manager with occ does not work or pure documentation how the command need to be

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. occ user:setting user1 settings manager “user2”

    1. try too: occ user:setting user1 settings manager ‘[“user2”]’
    2. try too: occ user:setting user1 settings manager ‘[“user2@instance.domain.com”]’
  2. WebUI said “user2” not found

What would be proper syntax to change user manager using occ?

Can you try if it works if you delete it first:

occ user:setting --delete user1 settings manager
occ user:setting user1 settings manager '\["user2"\]'

this option works for me, but it works on the webUI as well …

Sadly that does not work. I assume hat to do something with LDAP backend

I don’t use it, so I cannot help you with that. Not sure if such things have to be managed through LDAP in this case…

maybe is just a bug and i will work in version 35
