macOS Nextcloud Virtual Files - Can't Sign in to Network Folder on Finder

I’ve attached a screenshot of the issue. I’ve installed the Virtual version of Nextcloud Files desktop for macOS (I’m on a MacBook Air, 2020, M1 Chip). I’ve granted Nextcloud permissions such as Full Disk Access and the software works locally.

I can access my Nextcloud server and up/download files which get saved to my other location on Finder locally. However when I try accessing the network folder to see the files “virtually” without downloading them locally, I need to sign in.

When I click Sign in, another little screen pops up, but it’s black and there’s nothing there to click. This also breaks Finder and I need to restart it. I’ve already tried reinstalling Nextcloud, that didn’t help.

It looks like you might use a dark mode?

In such a case, it is probably the best to report this issue directly to the bug tracker for the developers: GitHub · Where software is built

As a workaround, you could try without the dark mode.

This is when you don’t use the virtual file sync?

I found an issue where somehow the app had installed about 10 times on my device, I used a combination of App Cleaner and Pear Cleaner to FULLY remove it. I’ve reinstalled the app (“Virtual” version), it’s a new version that was just released (Nextcloud-3.16.5-macOS-vfs.pkg).

However this problem is the same, it has not been fixed. You replied to a different post I made about the app constantly closing, that no longer happens which is good. However I can’t access the network folder in Finder called Nextcloud, just like in my original post, it’s just blank when I try to sign in, even on Light Mode (I was in Dark Mode originally).

I did find one weird thing, in my Trash there is an empty folder called Nextcloud-[my].[email]@[domain].ca@[my.server.ip.address/port# and I cannot delete it even with Terminal commands, it says the file is in use, but I can’t seem to find where. I have a feeling this may have something to do with me being unable to make use of the network folder Nextcloud found in Finder under “Locations”.

@d.s any fix you got yet?

I also have this problem, also in light mode. I’ve tried quitting and re-launching the app, disabling and re-enabling virtual sync. Same grey rectangle when I click “sign in” in finder.

If you have independently such a problem, please check on the bug tracker and open an issue there. Especially if you have information on how to reproduce the problem, if there was a specific version after that the problem appeared etc. that can be very helpful.
