# MacOS Client Folder Sync Setup Invisible

Hi,  
I’m trying to configure the Nextcloud client on a Mac so that I can select a folder for synchronization. I can see the feature in the manual—and it’s clearly visible on Windows—but that option is missing from the Mac client. What am I doing wrong? It is an IONOS Nextcloud.

Hi, @ostseehuepfer! On macOS, our clients is set up in file provider (“Dateianbieter”) mode by default. There is [a dedicated user manual page for that](https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/user_manual/en/desktop/macosfileprovider.html) which will be updated soon to reflect the latest changes in our user interface and macOS 27 Golden Gate. If you want to rather use the traditional folder synchronization configuration, you have to disable the file provider in the general app settings pane (“Allgemein”). I hope this already helps.
