Mac Client's settings pane disapears behind other windows / no symbol

No matter which version of the Mac NC Client / Apple OS: When I open the “general preferences” pane it disapears as soon as another window comes over it. So far nothing is special. As in Windows one can change between the windows by choosing the different application by tabbing CMD/CTRL + TAB. At least under OS X there is no symbol for the NC Client, i.e. I have to click again on the upper task bar four times to see this pref. pane. Or I have to “remove” all overlaying windows manually. Both ways really suck. Does anyone know how to “generate” an “active app symbol” (don’t know how to express more correctly) on OS X, Big Sur for example?
