Mac Catalina, cannot log in (form mangled)

Iā€™m installing latest Mac client on a brand new Catalina
On startup, after I insert the server hostname, the blue background of the login form is displayed, but after less than 1 second, the windows goes blank except for a 10px horizontal blue line

Has anyone tried logging in after upgrading to 2.6.4? in my old mac I progressively updated to the same version, but I never did a logoff.
