Nextcloud version : 20.0.3
Operating system and version : ubuntu 20.04
Apache or nginx version Apache2 2.4.41
PHP version: php 7.4

JPG images uploaded for “Login Image” in theming are being converted to png, so login page size are increased enormously, I don’t think this is normal,

Steps to replicate it:

1. upload a JPG image in “Login in image” in theming
2. Check image size and type on login page

Notes: imagemagick-6.q16-6 is installed

That’s the way how projects work. You cannot expect to get any response on an issue report, within a time period which you define. Developers are usually reviewing the existing issues from time to time and are classifying them based on the importance for the project. Due to the fact that there are many more important issue which need to be solved, I personally wouldn’t expect to receive an answer on that issue soon 😉

please forgive my ignorance, active projects usually do not need 4 months to just address a faulty login image encoding as I understand, I’m still not sure if it’s a bug or something specifically effecting just the few due to missconfiguration somewhere.
It would help a lot if it’s just addressed, just to know if it’s necessary to waste time on fixing it from the non-developer side.
thank you for your reply anyway
