LDAP users unable to login

Nextcloud version (eg, 12.0.2): 13.0.1
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 17.04): CentOS-7.6
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): nginx 1.12.2
PHP version (eg, 7.1): 7.1.24

The issue you are facing:

Last night, I upgraded my LDAP (FreeIPA) & NextCloud VMs from CentOS-7.5 to CentOS-7.6. Since then only the admin user has been able to login. If I try to log in using my LDAP credentials, I simply get a ‘Wrong password’ error back in the UI, and a ‘login failed’ message in the logs. Having gone through the LDAP settings wizard, the LDAP configuration looks to be fine in that users and groups can be looked up successfully. There aren’t any errors in the logs other than the ‘login failed’ entry. Prior to the OS upgrade, everything was working fine.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Login to NextCloud using LDAP credentials

The output of your Nextcloud log in Admin > Logging:

Warning core Login failed: 'matthewburgess' (Remote IP: 'x.x.x.x')
