What I just don’t understand, why ain’t there a single effort being made in adding or asking for “jitsi”- integration? The combination of a self-hosted nextcloud instance combined with a self hosted jitsi server would be heaven on earth. All my customers are asking me this on a regular basis. Two great open source products should be able to work together. Just something that people can click on and then invite others into a room (which is external then of course).
Efforts have been made, as there is actually a third-party Jitsi integration available in the Nextcloud app store. However, it doesn’t seem to be actively maintained anymore. The latest version is only listed as being compatible with Nextcloud 31: Jitsi Integration - Apps - App Store - Nextcloud
Nextcloud already has Talk, so it is unlikely that Nextcloud GmbH or developers paid by them would maintain an official Jitsi integration themselves, as it would be somewhat redundant. Therefore, I guess that this will continue to depend on third-party/community efforts.
Then perhaps you could help to continue that effort. Why not try contacting the app’s maintainer to ask if you could support the project with funding or manpower?
