Issue with opening OnlyOffice in Firefox when Privacy Badger is activated

Hi folks,

this is an issue a colleague of mine stumbled upon while using OnlyOffice at a Nextcloud instance. Initially, when trying to open a document an error like the one in the screenshot appeared.

The browser was Firefox for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The issue was fixed once the domain for the OnlyOffice server was whitelisted in the Privacy Badger Mozilla Firefox Addon. Just wanted to share this here in case other people have similar issues.

Hm… curious.

I have…

  • Firefox 78.0.2 (64 bit)
  • Manjaro 20.0.3 Lysia
  • Kernel 5.7.9-1
  • Xfce 4.14.2
  • Privacy Badger 2020.6.29

…and no problems :thinking:

As I mentioned this happened in Ubuntu and once Privacy Badger was deactivated things went back to normal. @Silva.Arapi do you have more info?

I think the issue was related to the fact that OnlyOffice document server was running on a different domain and server from Nextcloud. Privacy badger probably treated it as a tracker.
