Getting help
In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.
Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:
- Official documentation (searchable and regularly updated)
- How to topics and FAQs
- Forum search
(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).
Hello everyone! Firstly, I’m sorry that I don’t know more specifics of the server etc. (and if this is the right place) because my Nextcloud account is hosted by my organization (federal institution).
The problem: I’m synchronizing our Nextcloud storage with our local Win computer in the office, and the amount of .sync files is making the work nearly impossible.
For one file, dozens if not hundreds of .sync files are created in every subfolder and the main folder is being flooded with files like .sync_[name and date].db-wal constantly.
The .sync files are also not hidden in Windows so it’s really impractical if you need to scroll through hundreds of files to find the correct one.
So my question would be: Is there any way to make the .sync files hidden by default? Or at least store them in one subfolder instead of spreading them in all the folders?
Thanks in advance!
