Is a raspberry 2 sufficient to run nextcloud?

I want to setup a private nextcloud server and ask myself if I can go with my raspberry 2 B (v1) or if it is better to get a newer 3-model.

Model 2’s cpu is slower, it doesn’t consume as much power on the other hand (4 vs. 7W).
Is it possible to use sleep states on a raspberry? I really only need nextcloud on demand (syncing calenders, send a file from to time).

I‘m running my nextcloud server on a PI2b without any issue. Use just syncing for some user and some file share. I would recomend a fast sd card to use. You would have more advantage from this move then you could archive with a faster PI3.
