Couldn’t find much online that actually worked so i was hoping somebody could shed some light on the problem As i was upgrading from nextcloud 19.0.4 to nextcloud 20.0.1 i faced a few issues were the update got stuck on step5, however i managed to work my way around it by increasing the php memory limit to 512 as recommended by nextcloud and i ran the updater from the command line, everything worked fine untill i decided to long in to nextcloud and i got this message: ## Internal Server Error The server was unable to complete your request. Please, don’t forget Apache is the server and not nextcloud 😉 So please send your apache-log or tell us if your can reach your webservers IP. And what happend with nextcloud at port 80 ? Best Regards ---

thank you for your reply! I’m trying to attach the apache log trying to figure out a way to upload the whole thing or might end up uploading a part of it. when i type in my local IP or public IP it takes me to the apache webpage, and if i add localhost/nextcloud it takes me to nextcloud, i enter my loging credentials and that when the internal server error shows up. ---

No Problem. Please set your Nextcloud error Log to Level “4”. See how to do it [here](https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/12.0/admin_manual/configuration_server/logging_configuration.html) in the manual, and sende the nextcloud error log again after trying a access your cloud. Why are you using “localhost” as your nextcloud-domain? ---

I’m not using localhost, im using my domain name or my local ip address and getting the same error. I just checked the config.php for nextcloud and loglevel =\>2, should i change it to 4 either ways? ---

I always wanted to add that i did an ncp scan for users and some of my users game an error that they do not have the required permissions, i followed a few command online to give the folder the necessary permissions but the problem persisted. hope that information was useful. ---

Yes. However i think i ruined the whole thing, i tried upgrading php now i dnt even have a loging page. Aghh this has been killing me for the past few days ---

Hello, I don’t know if it’s the same problem but few weeks ago I had an internal server error 500 which i fixed by applying post suggestion to disable “php memcaching” in Nextcloud config. I still wasn’t able to access my Nextcloud instance (I am not site administrator so cannot access Apache and PHP central parameters, Nextcloud is sitting next to a web site), I decided to delete nextcloud.log which was 2Go and bingo mys site was back. When you upgraded PHP, was it the process where you could choose between the local copy and replacing it in Raspbian? Posting results from nc-info will be helpful. I also had this problem and had to go to my apps folder and rename the folder of an app I just installed from ‘epubreader’ to ‘epubreader.off’ in order to get nextcloud up and running again.
