# Installation without snap

There is no official repository, but some from community are promoted: [Linux packages status](https://help.nextcloud.com/t/linux-packages-status/10216?u=michaing)

But in case just manually download the latest Nextcloud archive and extract it to your desired location: [https://download.nextcloud.com/server/releases/latest-12.zip](https://download.nextcloud.com/server/releases/latest-12.zip)  
After that you can just follow the manuel installation guide, just skipping all snap stuff.

Updates should be anyway done through the internal updater.
