I’ve got used to this error cropping up and why now, but thought a post here to suggest an improvement may be a good idea.
On several occasions I’ve had the error Ignored because of the “choose what to sync” blacklist and initially spent a good while looking at the ignored files (which are set to the defaults) and using Google to try and work out why files weren’t sync’ing. It turns out that, in my cases, the reason is that I had a folder on the server with the same name as I had on my client, but the folder wasn’t in my synchronise list.
It would be helpful if the error message in this case could be more helpful and note that it cannot upload because it clashes with data already on the server, rather than generically refer to a blacklist.
