I want to free some space on my mac without losing my files

Hi,
I use Nextcloud on my macbook, and chose to keep all my files on my laptop. Usually when I want to add a new file on the cloud I just drop it on the correct folder via the finder (obviously you know how this works…) and every file added on the cloud (when I use nextcloud online on another laptop or my smartphone) is then synchronized on my macbook… which had quickly fill all my storage capacity. Is there a way to :

1. Stop synchronize every file added online ?
2. free some space on my laptop by “deleting” the file version on my laptop without deleting the file version on the cloud ?

I hope I was clear with my explanation…!
