Hello, following the update from Nextcloud 31 to 32, I can no longer access my server’s web page.

After doing some research, I realised that this is potentially a PHP issue; here are the logs:

Is it possible to roll back using a backup, to restore a working server, whilst I set up a second machine with the current requirements?

- Nextcloud Server version _(e.g., 29.x.x)_:
  - `31.0.14`

- Operating system and version _(e.g., Ubuntu 24.04)_:
  - `Ubuntu 22.04`

- Web server and version _(e.g, Apache 2.4.25)_:
  - `2.4.52`

- PHP version _(e.g, 8.3)_:
  - `8.2.28`

- Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
  - `yes`

- When did this problem seem to first start?
  - `after update 32.0.15`

Hello,

I tried to restore from a backup located at /data/updater-xxxx/backup using the rsync command.

I no longer get the 500 error, but I’m now getting a new server error:

```auto
‘scriptName’:‘/index.php’,“message”:‘Class \\’OCA\\\\Files\\\\Controller\\\\FilenamesController\\‘ does not exist’
```

I have carried out a

```auto
I’m stuck and I can’t find any information about this online. Can you help me?
To me, that sounds exactly like this:
> Found on Daily LTD:
> \`\`\`
> PHP Fatal error: Class OCA\\GroupFolders\\Versions\\Versio…nsBackend contains 1 abstract method and must therefore be declared abstract or implement the remaining methods (OCA\\Files\_Versions\\Versions\\IVersionBackend::getRevision) in /var/www/html/apps/groupfolders/lib/Versions/VersionsBackend.php on line 40
> 1a60486d2be6:/var/www/html$ ./occ app:disable groupfolders
> Nextcloud or one of the apps require upgrade - only a limited number of commands are available
> You may use your browser or the occ upgrade command to do the upgrade
> groupfolders 20.0.0-dev.0 disabled
According to the comments there, the Nextcloud upgrade works after running a manual `occ upgrade`. Example for a default Ubuntu / Debian setup:
```auto
cd /var/www/html/nextcloud
sudo -E -u www-data php occ upgrade

```
I tried the command:
```auto
sudo -E -u www-data php occ upgrade

```
but this is the message I got:
> No upgrade required.
> See the upgrade documentation: [Documentation Redirect](https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/31/go.php?to=admin-update) for more information.
Have you upgraded back to v32 first?
Yes, I’d updated from 31 to 32, but I got a 500 error.
I tried restoring a backup, but that wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had…
I ran the update again via the SSH command line; the update went through successfully and I was able to access my Nextcloud server again. Thank you.
Hi, i experienced a similar problem after updating via ncp-dist-upgrade. I experienced Mal-function as well (e.g. error 500 on Web browser, not working clients). Solution for me was updating php-oc-cache via ncp-config.
