Howto migrate primary storage from local files to s3

Is there an approved manner of migrating the primary storage from local files to s3? I run a very old instance (15.0.11.1) and i’m planning to build a new infrastructure from scratch instead of upgrading.

As of now the plan is to use something like rclone to migrate the local folders into the new structure using the webdav target and a “fake” authentication server, and after migrating point the server into the correct authentication server, with the actual credentials, but I’m curious if there is a more direct and nextcloud-approved way of doing this, besides what was described in this forum posting in 2023:
