How to use occ files:scan to scan a path on external storage

The occ files:scan command has a --path option to limit scanning to a single path:

-p, --path=PATH limit rescan to this path, eg. --path="/alice/files/Music", the user_id is determined by the path and the user_id parameter and --all are ignored

The documentation explains the following:

When using the --path option, the path must consist of following components:

“user_id/files/path”
or
“user_id/files/mount_name”
or
“user_id/files/mount_name/path”

where the term files is mandatory.

Example:

–path=“/alice/files/Music”

However, I have an External Storage folder of the SMB/CIFS type which is set up for all users in a group to access. Is it possible to scan just a path within this external storage folder, and if so how do I construct the path?

I’d also be interested to know how paths in group folders can be scanned.
