How to update from outdated NC17.0.2 to NC19 (using NCP on Armbian )

I am using NCP v1.30.0 on Armbian Buster, installed initally with the curl command line.
Despite nc-update, etc. is all enabled, my NC instance got outdated for some reason. Wanted to resolve this by sudo ncp-config but the updater refused to update 2 major version.
What is the recommended way out here? Should I manually update NC?

Update one major version to the next major and latest/highest stable version, as long as you do not skip a major release.
From 17.0.2 to 18.0.10 to 19.0.3 (ncp latest stable when on auto) although Iā€™m on 19.0.4
and works okay for me.

Encouraged by your suggestion I tried (again) to do this. Last time it failed because i only typed ā€˜18ā€™ as revision number. Today I typed ā€˜18.0.10ā€™ and the update has now started!
