How to show Presentation notes?

The option View - Notes is not there in Presentations. Is this a bug?

This is not a bug. Notes haven’t been implemented in Collabora:

Ok. That’s a serious drawback for Nextcloud Office. That’s a basic feature of presentation software, and not having it available means that it Nextcloud Office can’t replace Microsoft Office/Powerpoint.

Of course, one can use Nextcloud for file storage and use LibreOffice or Powerpoint for presentations, but one can’t collaborate on presentations without access to notes.

Not sure if that’s actually the thing you’re looking for, but I have an option “Notes View” in the “View” tab:

@bb77 I don’t have it, that’s what I want.

Mine looks like this.

So how can I get it? Seems like you have different version of Nextcloud Office?

Probably. I looked on two instances, one running the latest collabora/code Docker container, and one running the built-in CODE server. The feature is available on both instances. Here are the versions that are installed:

Production instance

Nextcloud 29.0.5

Nextcloud Office 8.4.4
latest collabora/code Docker container

COOLWSD version: 24.04.6.2 (git hash: 4fd2181 (E))
LOKit version: Collabora Office 24.04.6.2 (git hash: 47680e0)
Served by: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)

Test instance

Nextcloud 29.0.5

Nextcloud Office 8.4.4
Collabora Online - Built-in CODE Server 24.4.502

COOLWSD version: 24.04.5.2 (git hash: ca2ed20 (E))
LOKit version: Collabora Office 24.04.5.2 (git hash: ff487ed)
Served by: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)

Thanks @bb77

My version of Nextcloud Office (8.4.4) is the same, and with Nextcloud I’m on 29.0.4 which should make much of a difference.

I’m on a hosted version though, and the CODE server seems to be on 23.05.10.1, so that might explain the lacking feature.

Yeah. Seems like there’s not much you can do besides asking your hosting provider to upgrade their instances.
