How to get rid off "You have not set or verified your email server configuration, yet" message

Hi all,

I don’t use and don’t want to use any email server with my nextcloud local instance.
Is it possible to remove warning about emails server configuration from overview page without setting any email server?

well… the wording is a bit misleading as you don’t really install a mailserver of your own.

NC works as a Mail-client to an existing, external emailaccount.

And NC needs this so-called server-setup to communicate with you in case of technical problems or (important) messages from your NC-software to you and your users.

So best thing to get rid off it would be: connect it to an external mailbox of yours. Or otherwise you will meet problem using NC

occ config:app:set core emailTestSuccessful --value=1

Or disable the email-app in Nextcloud.

As I said I don’t need to and don’t want to connect NC to my mailbox. I don’t think this will cause any problem with NC usage

well we’ll see about that.
But yeah, you can do whatever you want to do with your server.

But don’t forget to mention that speciality in case you’ll experience problems in the future.
