I have Auto Upload folders setup. After taking a picture or screenshot I would like to have it on my PC synced, but so far I am forced to wait 15 minutes for upload happen, based on the app settings.
Is there any way to go to nextcloud android app and force sync/upload so I can have those files on my PC without waiting?
I wish there could be some button to force sync/upload in the app.
Currently, the Nextcloud Android app doesn’t have a dedicated “force sync” button for Auto Upload folders. However, you can try opening the app and manually refreshing the files view or temporarily disabling and re-enabling Auto Upload in the settings to trigger an immediate upload. Also, make sure the app has background upload permissions and isn’t restricted by battery saver or data saver modes. Hopefully, a force sync button will be added in future updates!
I can’t confirm this app behaviour. My uploads start near instantly.
Is it possible that your mobile’s energy settings are doing something funny with the app?
Make sure that there are no energy saving plans activated for your app.
Does this behaviour also occur when you’re at home / connected to a Wifi?
What mobile phone and android version are you using?
What’s your server’s nextcloud version?
Nextcloud Android app (v. 3.31.4),
Nextcloud Hub v 30.0.11, MicroPC with Linux connected to the router.
It is a local network only (192.168.1.5:8781), self signed certificate.
PC (Windows 11) is over LAN, Mobile app is over WIFI, same router.
The sync is only available when home. When I took a picture, the android was connected to WIFI. I had this issue always. I just wait some time 5-15 minutes and the sync is working fine. But I wish sometimes I can force sync, because I need to download the picture on PC and send it to my friends. Sometimes I just send the picture over the messenger app, and then download it on PC and that way I don’t have to wait for the nextcloud sync.
