How does the "Edit Ignored Files" work now?

How does the “Edit Ignored Files” work now? Something has changed. I used to have a dot file in the root of my Nextcloud sync folder called “.sync-exclude.lst” with all the excluded patterns and that worked across all my clients. But this file is ignored now. If I now add patterns inside the Nextcloud client they go to %APPDATA%\Nextcloud\sync-exclude.lst and that is, of course, local to each client.

Is there still away to have a server side list of excluded patterns that would apply to all clients? I’m seeing contradicting information and lots of old posts and none of the information is helpful.

Thank you!

Answering my own question. So it seems that it still works the way it used to. I deleted the .sync-exclude.lst file from the sync folder, added new exclusions using one of the clients, then restarted the server and all clients and it did sync after a while and all clients have the same exclusions now.
