How can I correct spelling mistakes in reviewed strings?

When I recently upgraded to Nextcloud 11, I noticed a German translation error in the default files interface: “Akuelle” instead of “Aktuelle”. As I am also a translator on Transifex, I wanted to correct this error, but was unable to do so since the string has been marked as “reviewed”. I could of course leave a suggestion, but I fear that these are not seen by reviewers.

So, how would I go about changing a translation string that has already been marked as reviewed even though it includes a mistake? Is there some way in the Transifex UI that I missed, should I open an issue on GitHub, or something else? I understand that the point of reviewing strings is to prevent them from being changed substantially later, but it would still be useful if small spelling corrections are allowed even by non-reviewers.

And please, reviewers, at least read over the strings a second time before you mark them as reviewed, as I have found several obvious mistakes that could have been prevented by a more careful review.

Hello,
the faulty string was from me. Don’t know, who reviwed it, because I don’t review my own translation…

seen by reviewers.

Actualy this fault was seen by an other User, who had the right to change it, but didn’t saw the fault…

We are all only humans…

Now it’s corrected.

Could you please post these mistakes, I would try to correct them, if they are in the german translations…

but it would still be useful if small spelling corrections are allowed even by non-reviewers.

I don’t think so, but I think it would be perhaps helpfull, to give you the reviewing rights…

Note that I don’t intend to criticize translators and reviewers, since I know that mistakes happen from time to time, especially on such a large project with thousands of strings. The whole point of a public translation platform is that others can spot and correct these mistakes when they appear. However, the review process, as I understand it, is intended to mark strings as “good enough for production use”. It is therefore important that reviewers do actually review these strings carefully, as afterwards it is much more difficult for others to fix mistakes that have slipped through the review process. Sadly I feel that sometimes reviewers blindly mark strings as reviewed without double-checking for mistakes.

Also thanks for correcting it!

I found a few spelling mistakes a few months ago, but I don’t remember them off the top of my head. It isn’t always spelling, but punctuation and grammar as well. (Mostly minor but annoying things like missing or excessive commas.)

I don’t mean that non-reviewers should be able to change reviewed strings at will, but there should be some easy way to report them to reviewers so that these can fix mistakes. It is possible to suggest translations in the Transifex UI, but from what I understand these suggestions are only seen by translators when they (re)translate a string, so they don’t get a notification every time a new suggestion is added (I could be wrong, though). Maybe something like this already exists, but I didn’t find it in the UI.

I don’t think I need reviewer rights, as I am only infrequently active on Transifex. I’d just like a simpler way of reporting mistakes in reviewed strings to reviewers.
