How can an external user add/invite me to their calendar entry and have it show up in my nextcloud calendar

I am new to this, so apologies if the question is a bit basic.

Essentially I have someone I frequently work with who uses Google calendar.
They already have the calender entry in their calendar with a number of other invitees.
They now want to add me (I am using Nextcloud calendar).
How can they add that calendar entry to my calendar?
If they invite as per normal, it just goes to my email address (I use Gmail to check my emails).
But I don’t see how I can accept that invite and now have the full entry (with the zoom link, details, list of all other invitees, etc) show up in my Nextcloud calendar.
