High CPU usage on sync

I have recently switched to Nextcloud and I have some observations and a possible feature request for the desktop (Windows) Nextcloud sync application.

Let me start with the set up. I have around 45GB of data in thousands of files. I know this is probably a lot and this is somehow a problem. What I am experiencing is that when I i.e. create a new director or modify a file the Nextcloud sync app is scanning whole root directory for changes. It takes around 30 seconds or even less but the CPU is soaring. Actually, one of the cores is at 100%. My question is as follows. Is it possible to sync the whole root directory only on application start (to be synchronized with cloud) and only resync files/directories which were actually affected.
