I am currently testing Hermes Agent locally and I am looking for a way to use it through Nextcloud Talk.
Hermes already supports several messaging platforms such as Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Matrix, Mattermost, email, webhooks and others. In my case, Nextcloud Talk would be the most useful channel, because I already use Nextcloud AIO and Talk in my self-hosted setup.
The goal would be something like this:
- send text prompts to Hermes directly from a Nextcloud Talk conversation
- optionally send voice messages in Talk and let Hermes transcribe them to text
- receive Hermes responses back inside the same Talk chat
- ideally use a dedicated Talk bot/user or webhook-style integration
- keep the whole workflow self-hosted as much as possible
I would like to ask:
- Has anyone already managed to connect Hermes Agent with Nextcloud Talk?
- Is there any existing bridge, bot, webhook or unofficial workaround for this?
- Is a native Nextcloud Talk adapter planned for Hermes Agent?
- Would this be better implemented as:
- a Hermes messaging platform adapter,
- a Nextcloud Talk bot,
- a Nextcloud app,
- or through webhooks/API calls?
I am not looking for Telegram or Discord as the main interface. The interesting part for me is specifically Nextcloud Talk integration, because it would make Hermes much more useful inside an existing Nextcloud environment.
If anyone has tested this, has a working prototype, or knows whether this is already being discussed, I would be interested in the current state and possible direction.
