Help with External Storage on a HDD

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 27.0.0
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): rasbian64bit
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): replace me
PHP version (eg, 7.4): replace me

The issue you are facing:

I setup a Nextcloud server on top of OMV but the OMV shared folder wasn’t added to my Nextcloud server. So I deleted OMV and added my HDD as a simple drive. I have added it, but every action I try to perform says forbidden. I don’t know what to do. Please help me. I have been attempting some chown thing and followed a few other posts about similar issues.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Try to use external storage
  2. Add your HDD
  3. Get forbidden message

  1. How, precisely, did you add your HDD to your Pi?
  2. Are you referring to “External Storage” as NC defines it (i.e. you logged into the NC web interface and added a “Local” External Storage mount?
  3. Where is your datadirectory?
