HELP ! ATTENTION! NEXTCLOUD 12 Encryption Module: ServiceUnavailable Encryption not ready: multikeydecrypt with share key failed

Dear NextCloud Experts,

I installed the NEXTCLOUD 12.0.3 version on a shared hosting space.

Then I downloaded the client for Windows 7 (Nextcloud-2.3.2.1-setup.exe) and I installed it.

Synchronization between folders worked.

Then I decided to enable the Encryption Module.

I also changed the user login password.

When I was logged in again, I tried to download some uloaded files from my NextCloud repository, but I received this error message:

Sabre\DAV\Exception\ServiceUnavailable Encryption not ready: multikeydecrypt with share key failed:error:0407109F:rsa routines:RSA_padding_check_PKCS1_type_2:pkcs decoding error
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

</s:message>

</d:error>

Who knows how to retrieve uploaded files?

Have I upload them again ?

Have I reset some keys ? How ?

Your kind help is absolutely welcomed !

Thank You in advance.

Alex

Hello,

If the file was shared to you, the person who shared it to you needs to share again (remove/add share or if a group is used, add your user, then remove). Sharing keys need to be regenerated for you…

I’m facing a lot of problem of this kind, each time someone change a password.
Two things seem to amplificate that :

  • using groups
  • using external AD/LDAP users

Nextcloud needs improvement in this area, especially in a enterprise use case.
