Galaxy J5, android v9 grayed out login button?

I run a nextcloud server, i have many family use it from their phones except for one person.

He can put the server in but When he tried to login the login button is grayed out?

he has a Galaxy J5, android v9, he did a full update, cleared all talk cache, uninstalled it, rebooted, re-installed but its still the same.

Im just not sure if his phone is to old or not, all i can find is the requirement for Minimum: Android 8.0 Oreo

He cant connect with nextcloud via phone browser. just gets the same i believe.

What browser? And what version? (You web server logs will have the specific user agent).

Hi,

He gave up and got another phone. Even that needed the Android System WebView updated separately (i.e. it had not been updated along with the default automatic updates).

I’d bet it was something to do with that webview app as to why it failed on his old phone but i cant keep asking him to try things. We spent a few hours searching/chatGPT trying to figure it.

He just went out and got another phone.

Thx though.

EDIT:

If it had been possible, it would have been nice to get some kind of error message in the screen instead of just a grayed out button.
