Folder is already being used as a sync folder

Hi All and Happy New year!

After resetting Windows installation without deleting files, i’m getting this error during the configuration of the folder to sync:

I tried to delete NC data in %appdata% but didn’t fix the issue.

How can i solve this problem?

I had this issue when I chose the same sync folder as before that still contained data when setting up the client anew. So the data in the sync folder was the problem. Moving that folder and choosing an empty folder solved the problem.

Hi @Carlos_Silva Welcome.

Show hidden files (required)

  1. Open File Explorer

  2. View → Show → Hidden items

  3. Also enable:

    • View → Options → View

    • :check_mark: Show hidden files

    • :cross_mark: Hide protected operating system files

Remove Nextcloud sync metadata from the folder

Go into your local sync folder and delete:

Delete all of these if present:

.sync_your-journal.db
.sync_your-journal.db-shm
.sync_your-journal.db-wal
