Files not uploading properly through auto upload?

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
    • 30
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Unix, 6
  • Web server and version (e.g, Apache 2.4.25):
    • Void
  • Reverse proxy and version _(e.g. nginx 1.27.2)
    • None
  • PHP version (e.g, 8.3):
    • 8.2
  • Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
    • No
  • When did this problem seem to first start?
    • a long time ago
  • Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
    • Manual
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • These things are not related to each other, CloudFlare isinsecurity, mod_security is security.

Summary of the issue you are facing:

I have objects set to auto-upload then to be deleted locally in the application. All set to overwrite on the server.

They don’t get deleted locally. Communication with the server seems to be accurate, but it doesn’t delete once uploaded.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Install the application.

  2. Set up the folders for auto-upload

  3. Let it auto upload over years.

Anything else you need to know?

Just FYI: NC 30 has been EOL for quite a while now.

Really???

I assume you mean Void, the Linux distro. Or is there also a web server called Void? In this context, it would be interesting to know whether the server, the client, or both are running on Void, and if so, which version of the client, etc., assuming you’re having issues with a client app.

1975? Sorry, couldn’t resist.

They are related in the sense that both can cause varoius issue, for example issues with file uploads.

Which application are we talking about here?

I’d assume it’s a mobile client because of the “auto-upload” feature. If so, which app are you using, which version, and on what kind of device and OS (iOS, Android, other…)?

Yes, and the updater doesn’t work, so it won’t let me update, so I"m tryign to get things done so that I can install the newest version and then copy over the data from the old database to the new one and same with all internal data. But I have to get the things working properly first so that I can update my phone as the storage on it is almost full because NC doesn’t delete when it says it should delete.

Yes, really.

No, I mean the Web Server. There is no version on it, but if I had to put a version on it I would maybe say 0.0.0.0.173

1970, Unix Epoch.

Well, I don’t use things that reduce security, like Amazon. And I believe that mod_security is related to Apache? Since I’m using a different Web Server, it isn’t that.

The application that runs on the phone. The NextCloud application.

Yes, it is using an Android variant of Linux, for the moment. Will be running VoidOS soon, as will pretty much everything that I own.
