Filenames not encrypted. Any solutions?

I enabled the default encryption module in my Nextcloud instance. As the docs mentioned, I noticed while the contents of files are encrypted, your cloud service provider can see the file names/directories (!). This is a bit disappointing, since that kind of metadata should have been encrypted too.

Is there a technical reason for the filenames and directory structure to not be encrypted (I can think of ways this could have been done - such as by maintaining an encrypted “map” of filenames and directories)?

Any workaround for this thing?

i agree one should add file and folder name obfuscation.
probably the devs are to lazy or think performance would go down (but there are many ways to do this).
my suggestion is to partner with cryptomator since that is one of the best open source solutions so far.
