File Error after exceeding storage limit

Hi,

at my school we’re testing a Nextcloud service provided by a German company.

After reaching the storage limit, some files could no longer be loaded. There’s the error message “Reading the document from storage has failed. Please contact the administrator of your storage location.”
I tried deleting files (down to 50% of storage limit), but some (not all) files cannot be loaded. Their file size is still shown next to them. We also can’t download the files anymore. Other files are available for download and editing with Collabora.

Are the files lost or is there a way to recover them?

Well, if you are just using the services, that’s the best thing you can do. If the storage was physically full (not just your quota) there might be things that weren’t carried out correctly and you need more detailed messages from the system to debug and recover everything.
