We store files with similar content in nextcloud folders and use the readme.md files to store descriptions about what the folder should be used for and it is nice that the contents of these files can be displayed when you open the folder.
Because you can not add a chat to a folder we open the details of the readme.md files and add a chat there. The chat is used to discuss the usage of the folder.
The disadvantage is that these chats are all named “readme.md” and have no description. (This is also a problem for all files with very common names.) There seems no solution for this right now. Another point is that these files can be moved to other folders and chat about the folder contents moves with them.
The better solution would be to add chats to folders. Maybe it is possible to add a hidden file to folders. This file could also replace the visible readme.md file which binds the contents to the folder. The desktop clients should map this feature to the operating systems. For example MacOS supports comments for folders and files.
