# External Storage throws errors after Update to 30.0.0

Nextcloud version _(eg, 29.0.5)_: `30.0.0`  
Operating system and version _(eg, Ubuntu 24.04)_: `Ubuntu 24.04`  
Apache or nginx version _(eg, Apache 2.4.25)_: `Apache latest`  
PHP version _(eg, 8.3)_: `8.3`

The issue you are facing:

Installed 30.0.0, now facing errors and warnings thrown by external storage “addon”. Worked on previous nextcloud versions. Addon not marked as incompatible.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? _(Y/N)_: Yes

Steps to replicate it:

1. Add external storage addon
2. Add external storage location
3. Try to open external storage location folder within nextcloud GUI

The output of your Nextcloud log in **Admin \> Logging** :

The output of your config.php file in `/path/to/nextcloud` (make sure you remove any identifiable information!):

```auto
Default configuration, nothing changed after installation. 

```

Any idea for a solution. Paths and names and what not is double-checked, also, external storage kind of works with simple small file up and downloads (the files get up or downloaded and correctly sync to the cloud), however when trying to enter Nextcloud GUI \> external storage \> folderXY, it throws the mentioned error like 20 times. Thanks in advance for any help!

Same Error here,

Had existing full working SFTP external storage, after update, Files App didn’t show any files anymore. After deactivating the external storage, local files appeared again.  
according to nextcloud.log, it has to do with an error in Math/BigInteger.php of 3rdparty phpseclib.

Found no solution yet.
